Fellow 36ers, After a short leave, I am resuming command of the Fox River Regiment. I would like to personally thank Bob Kuzma, William Hartless, Ezra Parker, and Peter Pelican and others who kept the unit running strong. Your help could never be more appreciated. As the season draws down, our final max effort event of the year is Minooka (Oct. 15-16). In conglomeration with the Dirty Shirts, Corn Fed Comrades, and others, we will be working together in preparation for the 15th Iowa: Paddleboat Company for Shiloh 150th next April. They have elected to support the 36th this year and will portray the 36th's Co.'s B and E on the Expidition to Houston, MO during the Rolla Campaign. The uniform standard will be in the 36th's newsletter. Please contact me if you are not on the mailing list. There is much anticipation and excitement brewing for both events, and numerous suprises are being planned. Two other events of interest are Greenbush, Wisconsin and Galena, IL. Ezra Cowger is the PoC for Greenbush and William Campbell is the PoC for Galena. The annual Wheaton CW show was a great success. Numerous contacts were made to collectors of the 36th and their research will be added to the website. Once again, the FRR shown themselves as the premier Illinois LH group. Stay posted in the coming weeks as several exciting projects are to be begin, including the transcription of the Reeder Letters, requisitions from the US Army Heritage and Education Center, and the John Weeks Collection. If you would like a hand in helping out, William Campbell and Ezra Parker are the PoC's.
